QUILOTOA LAGOON, Ecuador

It is located in the province of Cotopaxi and is part of the Ecological Reserve Ilinizas. This volcano is a lake in its crater about 3.5 km in diameter.

How to arrive?

It should reach the city of Latacunga and from there take the road to Pujili - Zumbahua - Quilotoa.

You can take a bus from Quito to Latacunga and then take another bus that goes directly to Quilotoa.

What to do?

Here you can enjoy the beautiful scenery and a breathtaking view of the lagoon and volcano Quilotoa.

Walking is a good choice to descend from the top of the crater to the lake, are about 440 km altitude. If you do not want to walk can hire a donkey or horse to make the descent.

You can also cultural coexistence with indigenous people, know their lifestyle and even live with a family for a few days.
