YASUNI NATIONAL PARK
The Yasuní national park (YNP) is the biggest protected area in the continental Ecuador and one of the places of bigger genetic diversity of the planet, because the number and variety of species that possesses is superior that in any other terrestrial ecosystem. It is necessary to highlight that for their great size and abundant biodiversity, was declared Reservation of the Biosphere by the UNESCO in 1989.
The YNP is located in the provinces of Orellana and Pastaza, has horseshoe form and understands from the south area of the river Napo and north of the river Curaray, extending for the half basin of the river Tivacuno. The main residents of the park are the Waorani, the same ones that are threatened by the oil exploitation, the deforestation and the creation of roads of terrestrial access.
Flora of the Yasuní National Park.-
The natural vegetation of the park occupies 95% of its surface; inside the YNP has been registered 2500 species of plants, inside those that highlight species like the balm, mahogany, cedar, anturios, palms, orchids, ferns, etc. Also exist 51 endemic species confirmed, of a total of 103 possible.

Fauna of the Yasuní National Park.-
Inside the fauna they have registered 200 mammals, 610 birds, 111 amphibians, 107 reptiles and 268 fish. All they next to other groups exercise an important list inside the ecosystem like polinizadores, frugívoros, dispersadores of seeds, carnivorous, herbivores, omnivorous and the disappearance of anyone of them, would generate an imbalance in the whole chain.
