Day 1

Welcome to the Amazon Jungle!

The tour begins at the Cuyabeno Bridge entrance to the Cuyabeno Wildlife Reserve from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. This will be the meeting point with our naturalist guide.

There are three options for getting to this point: private transportation, public bus, or car. Our team can help you book private transportation from Quito to the Cuyabeno entrance.

There, we’ll begin our Amazon journey by motorized canoe. As we travel down the Cuyabeno River, you’ll be immersed in the natural soundscape of the rainforest—monkeys calling, birds singing, and the rustling of trees.
You’ll have the chance to spot many species of birds, monkeys, and other jungle creatures. Along the way, your guide will share insights into the fascinating interactions between plants and animals within this unique ecosystem.

Your first day ends with a night walk in the jungle, a delicious dinner at the lodge, and an informative talk with our naturalist guides to help you understand the wildlife and environment of this magical region.

Days 2 & 3

Rainforest Immersion

Wake up to the mesmerizing sounds of the jungle: birds fluttering and singing over your cabin, tree frogs croaking, and the wind gently moving through the trees.

After breakfast, we’ll begin our jungle hike, walking upstream along the Cuyabeno River. Keep an eye out for towering trees, aquatic plants, colorful orchids, medicinal herbs, exotic birds, and wildlife native to the Ecuadorian Amazon.

After the trek, enjoy a tasty lunch and some well-deserved rest back at the lodge. Relax in a hammock or lounge chair, maybe with a good book in hand.

In the afternoon, we’ll head by canoe to the Laguna Grande, where you’ll be enchanted by its vast landscape—and if you're lucky, spot pink and grey river dolphins! Take a swim as the sun sets and soak in one of the most unforgettable sunsets of your life.

After dinner, the real adventure begins with a night canoe trip. Glide through the water under the stars and keep an eye out for the legendary black caimans of the Amazon. The mysterious jungle sounds will stir your senses and create memories you’ll never forget.

Siona Community & Shaman Experience – Half Day

Early in the morning, after breakfast, we’ll travel by canoe to visit the Siona Indigenous Community. Learn about their ancestral traditions, culture, and way of life, and take part in preparing Casabe, a traditional dish made from cassava.

After lunch in the community, we’ll meet the local shaman, who will introduce us to the spiritual world of the Amazon. Experience his healing practices, rituals, and vision-based wisdom, passed down over generations.
Before heading back, you’ll have the chance to purchase handmade crafts created by the community's artisans. During the return trip to the lodge, there’s often more wildlife waiting to be discovered.

Day 4

Birdwatching & Pink Dolphins

Today, we’ll explore the surroundings of the reserve on a peaceful birdwatching trip in a traditional wooden canoe called a quilla, used by Amazonian communities. This calm ride offers excellent chances to see monkeys and birds along the riverbanks and various types of Amazonian landscapes.

Later, you can enjoy a kayak trip on the black waters of the Cuyabeno River, or head out in a canoe toward one of the region’s most famous lakes.
There, take a refreshing swim and, if you're lucky, encounter the friendly pink river dolphins that call this area home.

Day 5

Sunrise and Farewell

On your last day, we’ll take an early morning canoe ride to enjoy the Amazon sunrise and observe the rainforest's birdlife at its most active.

After breakfast, we will begin the return trip along the Cuyabeno River to the entrance bridge of the reserve (11:00 a.m.), where you can take your transportation back home. End of our services.
